LABO, CAMARINES NORTE – The DTI Camarines Norte Provincial Office (CNPO), through the Consumer Protection Division (CPD), monitored six (6) Service-Repair Enterprises (SREs) in the municipality of Labo last 6-7 February 2024. These establishments including their employed technical personnel were found compliant to the accreditation requirements mandated by PD 1572.
This activity is part of the regular monitoring being conducted by DTI to ensure accreditation of firms offering service-repair services such as Automotive Engine Rebuilding and Engineering Machine Shop, Electronic Office-Data Processing Equipment, Electronics and/or Electrical, Mechanical-Electromechanical Office Machines, Motor Vehicle & Heavy Equipment, and Refrigeration & Air-conditioning.
According to Article 125 of RA 7394 or the Consumer Act of the Philippines, ‘The State shall cause the accreditation of repair and service firms or establishments and their technical personnel in order to protect the interest of the consumers availing of their services.’
