DAET, CAMARINES NORTE – A total of 100 participants, composed of representatives from the sellers of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs), employees of the 12 Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices, Offices of the Senior Citizens Affairs, and Person with Disability Affairs Offices, and representatives from the communities of Senior Citizens (SCs) and Persons with Disability (PWDs), underwent a Capacity Building Session on Joint Administrative Order No. 24-02 Series of 2024 last 20 June 2024 at Central Plaza Mall Atrium, Brgy. Lag-on, Daet, Camarines Norte.
Conducted by Consumer Protection Division personnel of DTI-CNPO, the half-day activity capacitated the participants with the 2024 revised rules on granting special discounts to SCs and PWDs on purchase of BNPCs as defined by the ‘Price Act.’
The activity is aimed at advocating the right of our SC and PWD consumers to the five percent (5%) special discount on their purchase of BNPCs which is separate and distinct from the twenty percent (20%) discount provided under RA 9994 and RA 10754.
