DAET, CAMARINES NORTE – A total of 433 Freshmen Students and 5 Instructors from the College of Business and Public Administration of the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) underwent Consumer Education sessions last 12-19 February 2024.
Conducted by Consumer Protection Division personnel of DTI-CNPO, the ten (10) runs of consumer education (1.5-hour session) made the participants aware of their rights and responsibilities as consumers thereby marked themselves as certified #MamimilingMaalam (Informed Consumer).
The consumer education (ConEd) is aimed at intensifying consumer awareness, upholding consumer welfare and protection among themselves, and inspiring vigilance on business regulation compliance within the community they belong.
Moreover, the ConEd is an avenue to advocate Consumer Protection Services of DTI which can now be accessed through www.mamimilingmaalam.com — a website intended to raise awareness on responsible consumerism, highlight DTI-consumer related advocacy programs and provide responsive online assistance to consumer concerns anytime and anywhere.
This annual activity is a product of partnership between DTI-CNPO and CNSC through a MOA signed last October 2022 to strengthen youth consumerism by integrating consumer education on the institution’s general courses as a ‘special session.’
